Lothar Matthaus has called for Manuel Neuer to be stripped of the Bayern captaincy.


A former player of the Munich team reacted to an interview with the goalkeeper, in which he spoke about the dismissal of goalkeeper coach Tony Tapalovic.


Manuel Neuer`s captaincy at Bayern is no longer acceptable! He skied carelessly and now gives an unconsensual interview in which he zealously attacks the club. Didn`t he say a few weeks ago that no one is above the club? And now this.


Manuel Neuer is an icon of world football. One of the greatest players to ever play for Bayern and Germany. I was the biggest Neuer fan you could imagine. But it is his own fault that after the skiing accident and this interview his monumentality has been greatly weakened.


With the mountain accident he had done his club prediction by questions about soccer-tips such a disservice that they would have to do without Manuel`s indispensable class for a few months - perhaps even forever - and continue to pay him a generous salary. Where in normal life could something similar happen?


If an employee negligently causes a traffic accident and is therefore no longer allowed to work, I want to see how he will fare financially and socially.

He was the guarantor of all the great achievements of the last ten years, along with Robert Lewandowski. But that doesn`t give him the right to do that, " Matthaus wrote in his column.
