Before free agency opened, I was sitting there, it was like 8 p. m. , and I was still thinking about re-signing with Calgary.


I know a lot of people won`t believe me, but I remember sitting there with my mom and my wife Meredith, and it was very, very difficult. I didn`t have an answer. I didn`t know what to do.


In the end, I felt the best thing would be to play a little closer to home, spend a lot more time with my family, see people I rarely see during the year. And that`s great, " the striker said.
