The titular goalkeeper of Schalke Fabian Giefer has laceration and almost certainly will not recover in time for the match in Gelsenkirchen.
So against Cristiano Ronaldo and company most likely will face the 19-year-old Timon Velenrojter.
The rookie has only three games in the Bundesliga, where he made 2 goals. Vs Eintracht Frankfurt (0:1) Velenrojter made a seemingly gentle nude, but the manager Horst Heldt spoke in his defense: 'I believe that he could not do anything. In the order of things is if you play against Real Madrid.'
