Iker Casillas also was speared by football fans, and the reason was his performance in the match, and a pretty comical expression at the very end of the match.
In the last minute of stoppage time Real had a throw-in in its half, and in his ambition to reopen the game faster, Casillas went to play kicker. Its implementation, however, was totally outside of the rules and the referee ruled a throw-in, which put and end to the hopes of real for the latest attack.
The implementation of the Spanish veteran immediately followed a number of funny cartoons on the Internet in which Casillas played basketball, volleyball and throws the Cup from the Champions League.
