The team of Red Star Beograde began the new campaign in Europe frustratingly. After a year-long pause because of a penalty, the team suffered a defeat with 0:2 by Kayrat Almaty in the first leg of the first qualifying round of Europa League.
During the day, the team was in for a surprise and unpleasant news. A hand grenade was found on the red star Stadium in Belgrade before the home game. By Serbian police revealed that the explosive was discovered on the penthouse of one of the stands 'Maracana' during a routine examination.
Even with the initial minutes of the Derby red star had to swallow another bitter pill. In the second minute of the match, the defender Savo Pavicevic received a direct red card for a foul.
At the end of the first half, the guests from Kazakhstan took the lead through Gohou, and in the 64th minute Ermek Kuantajev contributed to the final 2:0.
The rematch is going to be next week in Kazakhstan.
