Zdravko Mamic, President of the Croatian football club, Dinamo Zagreb, was arrested on suspicion of tax evasion and corruption, reported the local tv station HTV.
Together with Mamic, his son and three other suspects are in custody as well.
Mamic and his brother were subjected to a lengthy investigation of corruption and involvement in organised crime.
Croatian authorities have raised charges of embezzlement of 17.3 million dollars of the club fund between 2008 and 2015, as well as for tax evasion to the tune of 1.8 million dollars.
According to Croatian media, investigators suspect the brothers Mamic and in the acceptance of commissions from unregulated foreign clubs in transfers of football players.
Brothers Mamic were arrested and in July, but they were later released on bail. In this case, however, only Mamic was in a custody.
