An investment expert has predicted an increase in US investment in Premier League clubs. Adam Sommerfeld, a sports investment specialist at consultancy Certus Capital Partners, believes all Premier League and English Football League clubs could be owned by US investors within the next five to 10 years.
14 of the 20 Premier League teams are limited liability companies with [American] minority owners, as are at least a third of English Football League clubs. I can`t imagine that they won`t get American investment over the next five to ten years.
I know what`s going on in terms of trends and our competitors, and I don`t see a single team that hasn`t been talking to the US investor over the past few months. Every club talks to them, ” Sommerfeld told BBC Radio 5 Live`s Monday Night Club.
