Croatian fans detained for the Nazi greeting in France were released due to lack of evidence: video recordings do not look convincing 9.04.2025

Croatian fans will not be punished for a demonstration of Nazi greetings in France. Earlier, the French team reached the 1/2 finals of the League of Nations, defeating the Croatia at home (2:0, 5:4 on the penalty, the first game - 0:2).
It was reported that before the match about 300 Croatian fans sang patriotic songs, lit smoke bombs and showed a Nazi greeting.
During the performance of the Horvatia anthem, about ten people again demonstrated a Nazi greeting.  After the end of the game, the seven fans were taken into custody.
The prosecutor`s office said that the case was terminated for the lack of evidence, and the fans were released.
Videos do not look convincing, and they are more likely gestures than Nazi greetings, ”said the Secretary General of the Prosecutor`s Office of the Parisian suburbs Ann-Lor Mestralle.
